Lower Mainland trusted deck builders

Since 2015, we’ve helped homeowners transform their backyards with custom decks designed around their homes and lifestyles. As one division of a full contracting company, we have roofing, restoration and renovation trades in-house, so when a deck comes apart and reveals rot, failed flashing or envelope damage, our own people handle it. No stalled project, no second trade, no scope gap.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a new deck cost in the Lower Mainland?

Cost depends on size, height, material, railing type, site access and whether existing structure needs removal. A ground-level pressure-treated deck and an elevated vinyl deck with aluminum railings sit at very different price points. We give you a written estimate after a free on-site assessment so the number reflects your actual project, not an average.

Do I need a permit to build a deck in BC?

Usually, yes — most Lower Mainland municipalities require a permit for decks attached to the house or raised above a set height, and requirements vary between cities. The City of Vancouver works under its own building by-law rather than the provincial code. We confirm what your municipality requires and handle the permit as part of the project.

How long does a deck take to build?

Most residential decks take one to three weeks on site once materials arrive. Permits, custom railings and structural repairs add time. We give you a timeline in the estimate and update you at each stage.

What's the best decking material for the Lower Mainland?

It depends on the deck. If there's living space underneath, vinyl membrane is usually the answer because it waterproofs and finishes in one system. For open backyard decks, composite gives you low maintenance, cedar gives you natural character, and pressure-treated is the most affordable. We walk through the trade-offs during the assessment.

How long does a vinyl deck last?

A properly installed vinyl membrane typically lasts 20 to 30 years. Installation quality is the single biggest factor — seams have to be hot-air welded, not glued, and flashing has to be integrated into the building envelope.

Vinyl or composite — which should I choose?

Different jobs. Vinyl is a waterproof membrane, so it's what you use over living space, on balconies and on roof decks. Composite is a board product for open decks where waterproofing underneath isn't required. If there's a room below, it's vinyl.

Can my deck be repaired, or does it need replacing?

Depends on the structure. If framing, posts and ledger are sound, we can often replace surface boards, membrane or railings. If there's rot in the framing or the ledger has failed, replacement is safer and usually cheaper over time. We assess the structure before quoting either way.

Do you replace balconies in strata and multi-unit buildings?

Yes. We handle balcony and walkway replacement for townhome complexes and apartment buildings — membrane, framing, flashing and guards as one assembly. We work with strata councils and property managers on phasing, resident notice and access, and provide insurance and WorkSafeBC documentation on request.

Are you insured and WorkSafeBC compliant?

Yes. PCC carries $5M liability coverage and is registered and in good standing with WorkSafeBC. Documentation is available on request.

Is financing available?

Yes, through Financeit.

What warranty do you offer?

A 10-year manufacturer warranty and a 5-year workmanship warranty.

When's the best time of year to build a deck?

We build year-round. Spring and summer book up fastest, so booking an assessment in late winter usually means a better spot in the schedule.
